Great Basin Industrial, a Utah- and Texas-based civil contractor that fabricates and installs pipes and tanks for the oil and gas industry, was hampered by spreadsheet-based time-and-materials (T&M) capture and manual back-office processes. Field tickets took roughly 30 days to produce, many T&M dollars went unbilled, billing cycles stretched to 50+ days, and project managers lacked real-time job cost and productivity reporting to keep projects on schedule and budget.
Implementing Viewpoint Vista and Viewpoint Field Management replaced spreadsheets with a mobile, integrated field-ticketing and construction accounting solution that provides real-time data and automated ticket consolidation. The upgrade reduced ticket production from 30 days to 1, cut work-to-billed-to-paid time by about 50% (improving cash flow), doubled billing throughput while halving billing headcount, recovered previously unbilled T&M revenue, and helped secure preferred-vendor status expected to drive significant growth.
