GMI Construction, a family-run Leeds-based builder established in 1986, redeveloped the 134‑bed Ibis Styles hotel in Leeds city centre, including a 4,000 sq ft restaurant and refurbished public/retail areas. Faced with antiquated paper‑based site management, GMI needed a more robust way to track change orders, snagging and quality across multiple trades and subcontractors to meet tight programmes and contract specifications.

GMI deployed Viewpoint Field View on mobile tablets, registering 15 users including key subcontractors to give site teams real‑time snapshots of open items, searchable workflows, floor‑plan pinpointing and photo attachments. The intuitive system drove early adoption, reduced rework and sped issue resolution—saving an estimated 2–3 hours per person per day and around £750–£1,000 per day over the 51‑week project.
