Boosting site efficiency at 3 Merchant Square with Field View

Mace, the design-and-build contractor for European Land’s £100m 3 Merchant Square development in west London, needed a way to speed up location-specific capture and reporting of quality issues across a highly repetitive residential project. The senior project team sought a standardised mobile “snagging” solution to replace slow, email- and paper-based processes and to improve visibility and coordination with subcontractors and the client.

Mace deployed Viewpoint Construction Software’s Field View on Android tablets, using a train‑the‑trainer approach and on-site support to configure forms and workflows. Around 50 tablets were used by Mace, contractors and the client to handle approvals, handovers, site diaries and off‑site inspections; snagging time fell from about two hours per apartment to roughly 30 minutes, reporting sped up, paperwork was reduced, reporting became more consistent and secure audit trails were created, with prototype forms ready for roll‑out on other projects.
