How a Nordic CRO uses Viedoc’s adaptable platform to manage studies in Brazil

The customer, SMERUD Medical Research Group, a Nordic clinical research organization (CRO), needed to efficiently support and manage a vaccine study with participants in Brazil. Their challenge was ensuring seamless daily data collection from participants in a remote location while overcoming potential barriers like economic inequality and lack of access to technology. They turned to the vendor, Viedoc, to utilize its Viedoc Me ePRO/eCOA module for electronic data capture.

Viedoc's solution enabled participants to easily provide daily feedback on side effects via their own smartphones, with automated reminders configured to their local time zone. A key feature was providing the diary in Portuguese while delivering the data to researchers in English. The implementation was highly successful; SMERUD built the study quickly and found that smartphone access was widespread, resulting in very few missed diary entries. This allowed the CRO to manage the global study seamlessly from the Nordics, breaking down geographical barriers and proving that studies can be conducted effectively anywhere with Viedoc.
