New York Post, one of the oldest continuously published daily newspapers in the United States, wanted to promote its new premium membership, Post Sports+, to the users most likely to convert while preserving a high-quality experience across its large digital audience. Working with Vidora, the team used machine learning decisioning and Cortex to determine which users should see the Sports+ flyout, including targeting anonymous and first-time visitors.
Vidora implemented a solution that combined batch behavioral data with real-time signals, automated feature engineering, model selection, and continuous retraining through the Decisioning SDK and Cortex. The result was a 3x increase in flyout campaign conversions versus a rule-based metered approach, and adding real-time features boosted conversions by another 40% compared with batch-only historical features.
