DMV California takes disparate local evidence all over the state to manage centrally on VIDIZMO

The California Department of Motor Vehicles struggled with disparate, locally stored digital evidence—dashcam, bodycam and CCTV files on CDs and thumb drives across offices statewide—which made labeling, searching, sharing and maintaining chain of custody slow and error-prone. To address this, the DMV engaged VIDIZMO and adopted the VIDIZMO Digital Evidence Management System.

VIDIZMO implemented a centralized, CJIS‑compliant solution on Azure Government Cloud and media services featuring automatic transcription, role‑based access control, chain‑of‑custody and tamper‑detection, and organized case folders, tags and metadata. As a result, evidence is now searchable by transcript, securely shared across the state, Internal Affairs maintains separate workflows and custody logs, and field investigators spend more time in the field and less time managing files—improving collaboration and admissibility of evidence in court.
