Case Study: Rexcel Group saves Taipei Opera’s performance with Videon EdgeCaster live streaming

The Rexcel Group, a systems integration company, was challenged with enabling a live, multi-angle stream of a sold-out ballet and opera premiere in Taiwan after COVID-19 restrictions suddenly closed the venue to the public and eliminated the live orchestra. To save the event, they used the Videon EdgeCaster to power their Simple Live Streaming-as-a-Service platform, which needed to be deployed quickly and operated by non-technical staff.

Videon’s solution used four EdgeCaster units to ingest video via SDI and stream via RTMP to YouTube. The platform's simplicity allowed volunteer operators to use its one-button go-live feature confidently. This enabled 10,000 remote viewers from around the world to watch the historic performance, connecting fans and special guests who otherwise would have missed it.
