The State Theatre required a simpler and more reliable streaming solution for its annual benefit concert, which had to be entirely remote for its audience. Their previous video workflow was complex, required more on-site staff, and was not optimized for live streaming. To overcome this, they turned to Videon and implemented the EdgeCaster product.
Videon's EdgeCaster enabled the theatre to simultaneously live stream high-quality video to both Facebook and YouTube using multi-RTMP and multi-bitrate capabilities while also making a local HEVC recording. This technical solution allowed the event to be monetized successfully, raising $25,000 in donations. This result made it one of the theatre's most successful benefits and proved the viability of virtual events.
