Case Study: Signiant achieves streamlined alerting and on-call management with VictorOps

A VictorOps Case Study

Preview of the Signiant Case Study

Signiant Upgrades its Workflow through VictorOps Integrations

Signiant, a Lexington, MA–based enterprise software company that builds intelligent file movement solutions, was struggling with fragmented alerting as its SaaS and on‑prem services scaled. Alerts were coming from Nagios (via email), Papertrail, AWS CloudWatch and Pingdom, making it nearly impossible to route incidents and coordinate an expanding on‑call team. After evaluating options, Signiant selected VictorOps as its on‑call management solution to consolidate and modernize incident workflows.

VictorOps implemented standard integrations for Nagios (the source of about 80% of alerts), CloudWatch and Pingdom, added a bidirectional Slack “war room,” and enabled custom integrations (an open‑source PHP notifier and a Jenkins plugin). Signiant also automated ECS CloudWatch alarms via CloudFormation and used VictorOps’ Transmogrifier to annotate and reroute alerts with links to status pages and logs. The result was all alerts moved into VictorOps, clearer timelines and context for on‑call engineers, fewer source reconfigurations, faster triage, and rapid adoption of VictorOps by Signiant’s support team within months.
