A Victaulic Case Study

Vancouver Convention Centre ready for the 2010 Winter Olympics with Victaulic and 500+ events a year

The Vancouver Convention Centre, the main media hub for the 2010 Winter Olympics, needed its complex mechanical systems completed on a fast-paced timeline to be ready for the global event. The mechanical contractor, Fred Welsh Ltd., partnered with Victaulic to meet this challenge, utilizing their grooved piping products and coordination services.

Victaulic provided engineered grooved couplings, valves, fittings, and custom plate heat exchangers for the project. Their easy-to-install products and coordinated material delivery helped compress the construction schedule and increase on-site productivity. The successful deployment ensured the 1.2-million-square-foot centre was completed on time for the Olympics and it continues to host over 500 events annually, also achieving LEED Platinum certification.
