Case Study: Orange County Utilities improves settlement accommodation and installation speed with Victaulic wastewater piping solutions

A Victaulic Case Study

Orange County Utilities installs Victaulic joints in under 20 minutes to accommodate 3" settlement

Orange County Utilities faced a challenge during the construction of the new Hamlin Water Reclamation Facility. The engineers, Hazen & Sawyer, needed a piping solution for the influent raw sewage lines that could accommodate approximately 2.5 inches of future building settlement within a tightly confined space. Victaulic provided the solution to this dynamic movement requirement.

The solution implemented was the Victaulic Style 257C Dynamic Movement Joint on 20-inch and 24-inch lines. Victaulic's product accommodated up to 3 inches of settlement, exceeded project requirements, and provided a fully self-restrained joint. For the contractor, installation took less than 20 minutes per joint, significantly improving the construction schedule. Victaulic's solution also helped mitigate risk and increase the certainty of the piping system's performance for the owner.
