Orange County Utilities faced a challenge during the construction of the new Hamlin Water Reclamation Facility. The engineers, Hazen & Sawyer, needed a piping solution for the influent raw sewage lines that could accommodate approximately 2.5 inches of future building settlement within a tightly confined space. Victaulic provided the solution to this dynamic movement requirement.

The solution implemented was the Victaulic Style 257C Dynamic Movement Joint on 20-inch and 24-inch lines. Victaulic's product accommodated up to 3 inches of settlement, exceeded project requirements, and provided a fully self-restrained joint. For the contractor, installation took less than 20 minutes per joint, significantly improving the construction schedule.
