Kite Pharma completes facility heating and cooling installation 6 months early with Victaulic

Kite Pharma faced the challenge of installing a complex heating and cooling system for its new manufacturing facility under an extremely tight construction schedule, which was further complicated by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. To expedite the installation and meet the deadline, contractor Warner Mechanical partnered with Victaulic for its grooved piping solutions and Virtual Design & Construction services.

Victaulic implemented a solution using prefabricated modular products and its QuickVic™ grooved coupling system, which eliminated the need for welding and reduced the number of joints by 70%. This approach, combined with on-site training, significantly improved safety and reduced labor requirements. The project was completed ahead of schedule, which allowed Kite Pharma to gain FDA approval six months early and begin producing cancer treatments sooner than anticipated.
