Case Study: Denver Water accommodates 2" of settlement with Victaulic's Style W257 Dynamic Movement Joint

A Victaulic Case Study

Denver Water accommodates 2 inches of settlement with Victaulic

Denver Water faced a challenge when installing a surge tank on its West Belleview Pump Station, as engineers anticipated approximately 2 inches of settlement in a 26-inch buried pipeline. Space restrictions between the new tank and the existing pipeline further complicated the project. To solve this, Denver Water partnered with Victaulic and selected its Style W257 Dynamic Movement Joint.

The Victaulic solution was a pre-engineered, fully restrained joint that accommodated the anticipated settlement without requiring tie rods or a separate restraint harness. This smaller footprint was ideal for the tight space and provided inherent value engineering. The contractor, Velocity, was satisfied with the ease of ordering and installation, which saved days of work compared to a custom-fabricated alternative. Victaulic delivered a flexible and efficient solution that met the project's specific demands.
