Case Study: Brandt, a Southland Industries Company achieves efficient piping installation at the National Medal of Honor Museum with Victaulic grooved systems

A Victaulic Case Study

Brandt routes piping through 5 structural columns with Victaulic

The customer, Brandt, a Southland Industries Company, faced a complex challenge while performing MEP work for the National Medal of Honor Museum. They needed to route piping systems for chilled, condenser, and domestic water through the structural columns of the exhibition hall, a confined space, while also aiming to reduce mechanical footprint to maximize valuable exhibition area. They partnered with vendor Victaulic to develop a strategy using a grooved piping system.

Victaulic's solution involved using their grooved couplings, fittings, valves, and specialties, including QuickVic Installation-Ready Style 107V couplings, on the 2-12 inch pipe systems. This allowed for extensive prefabrication of pipe spools off-site, leading to easy on-site installation with minimal field connections. The results included a compressed construction schedule, significant space savings for the museum, and a faster, safer installation process for the mechanical contractor.
