Major Health Partners Selects Vicon’s Valerus VMS Solution to Simplify Complex Security Demands

MHP Medical Center, a new state-of-the-art hospital campus in Shelbyville, Indiana, faced complex security needs across a main hospital and multiple specialty buildings. The facility wanted to replace disparate legacy systems with a single, intuitive, centrally managed solution that could scale with future growth, protect patients and assets, and give staff easy remote access and clear incident visibility. Vicon’s Valerus VMS, deployed with high-capacity NVRs and nearly 200 indoor/outdoor IP cameras (installed by integrator Open Control Systems), consolidated monitoring across the campus, enabled browser-based remote access, and provided role-based permissions, a health dashboard, and faster evidence retrieval. The Vicon solution eliminated fragmented vendor support, reduced licensing costs versus alternatives, allowed a 30-day grace period for commissioning, and set the system up for expansion to additional buildings — delivering a simpler, scalable, and more efficient security operation for MHP Medical Center.
