Using CellAdvisor 5G to Identify the Root Cause of UE Connection Failure

Tier 1 Service Provider, a Tier 1 telecom operator, was struggling to launch several 5G sites because UEs could not connect to the network even though the RF downlink signal strength was excellent. The issue could not be isolated by the UE vendor or the NEM, and traditional field data capture with a UE was not a viable option, so the provider turned to VIAVI Solutions for help using CellAdvisor 5G.

VIAVI Solutions used CellAdvisor 5G’s beam analyzer to quickly identify the root cause: the 5G node B was not transmitting the SFN needed for UE beam acquisition. With that insight, the service provider shared the findings with the NEM, the problem was fixed, and the sites could be launched successfully.
