The City of Jacksonville, Florida’s largest city, needed a better way to troubleshoot complex, internally developed multi-tier applications and support a growing VoIP rollout. VIAVI Solutions implemented the Observer Platform, including Analyzer and its Expert Analysis and VoIP capabilities, to help Jacksonville pinpoint application delays, monitor call quality, and even record calls for training. The solution gave the team proof to resolve disputes between IT groups, reduced mean time to resolution and downtime, and helped uncover issues such as a database server holding packets and incompatible headsets causing dropped calls. Jacksonville also saved about $30,000 by using the platform for call recording instead of buying a separate recording solution.
