VIAVI implemented its EtherASSURE LTE Segmentation and PacketPortal solutions, which provided microsecond-level traffic monitoring. This high-resolution visibility revealed that 4G data traffic was causing massive, previously undetectable micro-bursts that saturated network capacity. VIAVI pinpointed a faulty network element that was incorrectly prioritizing data traffic over voice calls. After the element was updated, network performance met SLAs again. This success led to a global contract with VIAVI to cover the provider's entire network, which serves over 400 million subscribers.
