Financial Services Company, an S&P 400 financial services provider with more than 11,000 customers, needed to keep its web-based payment, processing, and automation services available and secure around the clock. To support that environment and investigate suspicious activity beyond basic IDS alerts, the company relied on VIAVI Solutions’ Observer Platform, including GigaStor for packet capture and analysis.

VIAVI Solutions helped the IT and security teams share a common toolset to monitor traffic, establish baselines, and inspect packets in detail. Using Observer Analyzer and GigaStor, they identified and stopped a DDoS/UDP reflection attack, positively attributed the attackers, and caught another malicious data flow that looked like email traffic but was not. The result was faster threat detection, better inter-team collaboration, and stronger proactive security capabilities, with GigaStor increasingly used as both a forensic and active security tool.
