Regulating E-Scooters through Fines Management in the city of Marseille

The City of Marseille faced the complex challenge of regulating e-scooters to ensure public safety and order amidst the rapid expansion of micro-mobility services. To address this, the city partnered with vendor Vianova to enhance its regulatory enforcement and fines management capabilities using the Vianova platform.

Vianova's solution provided an AI-driven Control Page that enabled the city to swiftly identify non-compliant e-scooters, manage fines, and optimize enforcement routes by clustering violations. This partnership with Vianova led to Marseille issuing its first e-scooter fine in March 2024, applying a 25€ fine per infringing device, and greatly improving its ability to monitor and enforce regulations for its 870,000+ residents.
