A vFairs Case Study
American Public University System (APUS), the sixth largest U.S. university by enrollment, needed a reliable way to connect students and alumni with employers after repeated failures of their previous platform. They faced routine crashes, server overloads that blocked student–recruiter communication, navigation and lag issues that lost engagement, low satisfaction scores, 12+ week setup times, and an excessive 13 staff required per event. APUS selected vFairs to run a Virtual Job Fair to address these problems.
vFairs delivered a customizable, intuitive virtual job fair (standing up the event in under four weeks) that met APUS’s criteria for secure access, online presence indicators, multi-recruiter support, resume uploads, recruiter scheduling, advanced search/filters, chat-to-phone/video, real-time monitoring and transcript capture. The result: staff needs dropped from 13 to 5, 86 pre-registrations and 384 live visits (142% turnout), 38 employers with about 30 visitors per booth, increased chats per student/employer/recruiter, and new booth/tab metrics to measure ROI—demonstrating higher satisfaction, engagement and faster time-to-event for APUS with vFairs.
