Improving Capital Project Planning at Georgetown Law

Georgetown University Law School needed a better way to plan and finance maintenance and capital projects as its relatively new facilities began to require more systematic investment. With limited internal resources and a backlog of emerging facility needs, the school turned to VFA and VFA.facility to assess conditions, prioritize issues, and support annual capital planning.

VFA completed facility assessments and implemented VFA.facility software for ongoing condition tracking, project prioritization, budgeting, and costing. Georgetown Law gained a comprehensive portfolio view, uncovered previously unknown critical issues, improved project costing with RSMeans data, and now uses the system to estimate annual investment needs and prepare funding documents for larger projects.
