A VFA Case Study
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a large Boston healthcare and research hospital with aging facilities, needed a better way to build an Infrastructure Master Plan and prioritize capital projects without reliable, up-to-date data on building conditions and major systems. It turned to VFA and the VFA.facility software to assess its portfolio and support capital planning, budgeting, and decision-making.
VFA performed facility assessments, inventoried 1,600 pieces of major equipment, and gave BIDMC a central repository for asset data and decision support. As a result, the hospital was able to justify critical life-safety upgrades and streamline project prioritization; VFA also helped BIDMC increase capital infrastructure funding by 500% over four years, from $3 million to $15 million.
