Point is a consumer FinTech that offers fee-free mobile banking—interest-bearing checking, a rewards debit card, and partner perks—and its core challenge was protecting sensitive customer data and meeting compliance without diverting engineering resources. To solve this, Point partnered with Very Good Security to adopt a Zero Data approach, using VGS’s data aliasing/tokenization to avoid storing raw sensitive information in their own systems.

Very Good Security implemented an out-of-the-box data aliasing solution that keeps sensitive data off Point’s systems, dramatically reducing the risk that a breached database would contain actionable information and removing the need for Point to build and maintain a custom protected data store. As a result, Point has reallocated engineering effort to product development, lowered its exposure to insider or external attacks, and positioned itself to expedite PCI compliance with support from Very Good Security.
