VIPKid, a global 1:1 online English education platform running over 100,000 lessons per day, faced major real-time interaction challenges: high volumes of audio/video and messaging events, frequent “Help” requests (~10% of classes), and manual backend (FM) triage that caused delays and inconsistent class experiences. To address this, VIPKid worked with Ververica using the Ververica Platform (powered by Apache Flink) and a custom Vlink real-time data system to enable low-latency streaming analytics and automated labeling.

Ververica’s solution delivered a real-time label and automated-processing pipeline that detects issues, runs self-checks (e.g., line switching), and escalates only unresolvable cases to FMs. As a result, nearly 60% of help requests are handled automatically, FM staffing needs fell by about 40%, processing time for a help request dropped to ~20 seconds, overall help requests declined ~3%, and complaint rates fell by two-thirds—significantly improving class quality and operational efficiency.
