Uk’s Largest Public Sector Company turned to Vertiv in early 2021 after Brexit-related border-control requirements created an urgent need for additional compute capacity at its Kent site. With no room for a traditional build and strict demands for resilience, security and rapid deployment, the organisation sought a prefabricated, plug-and-play data centre — choosing Vertiv’s SmartMod solution.

Vertiv supplied a customised Vertiv™ SmartMod™ modular data centre (including VR racks, Liebert CRV in-row cooling, Liebert APM UPS, fire suppression and integrated security and monitoring), developed and tested off-site and delivered as a turnkey unit. The facility was operational in just two months, delivering high availability, energy-efficient operations via iCOM thermal controls, simplified single-vendor service and the flexibility to relocate the unit if requirements change.
