A Vertiv Case Study
The University of Dammam, a research-led institution of over 50,000 students with a 600‑bed hospital, needed to expand its data center to meet growing IT demand while achieving high energy efficiency in Saudi Arabia’s extreme climate (up to 52°C). The University engaged Vertiv to deliver a state‑of‑the‑art data center solution, including Liebert UPS and cooling systems, Vertiv SmartAisle containment, Vertiv Knürr racks and Vertiv SiteScan® Web DCIM.
Vertiv implemented a Uptime Institute Tier III‑certified facility using six Liebert® 80‑NET UPS (up to 1000 kVA dual power), multiple Liebert PDX and CRV cooling units, Vertiv SmartAisle containment, Vertiv MPH PDUs and centralized monitoring with Vertiv SiteScan® Web. The result is a concurrently maintainable infrastructure with expected availability of 99.982%, a reduced footprint and minimized PUE to meet the University’s efficiency targets, enabling reliable, centrally managed IT services for thousands of users.
