A Vertiv Case Study
Monterey Peninsula Unified School District (MPUSD), which supports IT across more than 30 learning centers, needed to replace an aging, unreliable UPS before the start of the school year while staying within budget and during ongoing construction. Director of IT Manuel Zamudio was concerned about fluctuating backup runtimes, noisy cooling, and the risk to critical classroom applications and business workflows, so the district selected Vertiv and its integrated infrastructure solution to address these risks.
Vertiv deployed the Vertiv SmartRow integrated solution with Liebert GXT4 UPS, Liebert PDX cooling and Liebert iCOM controls, delivering rapid installation within the quoted six-week timeline and aligned with the allotted budget. The Vertiv solution improved energy efficiency and system reliability, reduced servicing and premature replacement costs, and gave MPUSD better visibility and remote monitoring via LCD and web dashboards—helping the district meet its SLA requirements (24-hour incident response and resolutions as short as four hours).
