Leading German Discount Retailer, with around 10,000 stores in more than 20 European countries, needed secure, energy‑efficient, standardized IT infrastructure across data centers, logistics centers and stores to support click & collect, digital signatures, POS and logistics. The retailer selected Vertiv to supply and manage Europe‑wide integrated rack, PDU and cooling solutions—including Knürr DCM racks, Knürr DI‑Strip PDUs and Knürr DCL rack cooling units—and to handle configuration and international project management.

Vertiv delivered customized, standardized server racks with integrated cooling and UPS interfaces, green PDUs and remote management, installing about 250 racks and 500 PDUs in data centers, 20 racks and 40 PDUs in warehouses, and 2–8 racks per store. Vertiv’s PDUs operate reliably up to 60°C and use roughly one quarter of typical PDU energy (projected savings of ≈€45,000 over 10 years for ~100 PDUs), while the integrated solutions reduced repair time and cost, saved space with optimized cabling, and improved availability through pan‑European monitoring and support.
