A Vertiv Case Study
KIO Networks, a Mexican IT infrastructure and services provider with 29 campus-based and 11 edge data centers, needed to expand its MEX5 data center by 1,000 m² and add 1.2 MW of power on an accelerated schedule. To meet strict availability, technical and timeline requirements for Phase 4, KIO Networks chose Vertiv and its integrated power, cooling and electrical distribution solutions, including Liebert EXL S1 UPS with lithium‑ion batteries, Liebert FPC PDUs, Liebert RX cabinets, NetSure 8200 DC systems, the Liebert HPC freecooling chiller with “Supersaver” and the Liebert CW chilled water system.
Vertiv delivered the complete solution and finished the expansion in five months (four months faster than planned), enabling 24x7 critical operations and driving a 60% reduction in energy consumption; the deployment also introduced Mexico’s first freecooling chiller and first lithium‑ion backup power system, giving KIO Networks measurable sustainability gains and market differentiation.
