Hyperscale Cloud Computing Provider Goes Modular for Rapid Deployment of Needed Capacity

Leading Cloud Computing Provider needed to add 60 MW of capacity at its Dublin data center within a tight 20‑week window and faced transport, safety and multi‑stakeholder coordination challenges for large modular infrastructure. The customer engaged Vertiv (via its E+I Engineering team) to deliver a modular data center solution that included low‑voltage switch rooms, busbar containment, UPS and static transfer switches, communication equipment, and factory‑built modular power skids.

Vertiv/E+I Engineering supplied and installed 56 factory‑built power skids (each >22 tons and ~85 ft long), fabricated overhead frames and busbar, used BIM to resolve integration clashes, and completed Level 3 factory acceptance testing before shipment. The Vertiv solution preserved the schedule, delivered the 60 MW expansion with zero lost‑time injuries, reduced on‑site labor by approximately 75%, and improved reliability and speed of deployment for the customer.
