Hormuud Telecom Offers Seamless Data Delivery With Deployment of Somalia Cable Landing Station

Hormuud Telecom engaged Vertiv to overcome Somalia’s limited undersea cable infrastructure and challenging coastal conditions by deploying a cable landing station (CLS) that would deliver high efficiency, availability and flexibility. The telco needed pre‑sales design support and reliable local execution to bring broadband inland; Vertiv was selected to provide the critical infrastructure, including the Vertiv™ NetSure™ 7100 DC power system, Vertiv™ Liebert® PDX thermal management systems and project services (installation supervision and commissioning).

Vertiv delivered a turnkey CLS solution—power systems, precision cooling and on‑site project services—that enables multiple submarine cables to connect at a single hub, streamlines cross‑connections to local and global partners, and provides energy‑efficient, uninterruptible power for high availability. The Vertiv solution accelerates broadband proliferation in Somalia, supports anticipated network capacity expansion, improves connectivity and service reliability, and lays the groundwork for broader economic and job‑creation benefits.
