Hibernia Networks, operator of the Hibernia Express 4,600 km transatlantic cable, needed two fully integrated cable landing stations that could withstand harsh oceanfront conditions, deliver ultra-low latency and be deployed quickly. Hibernia selected Vertiv to design and build the sites, with Vertiv supplying thermal management (Liebert DSE and Liebert PDX), high-efficiency NetSure DC power, ASCO automatic switches, inverters, VRLA batteries and related support infrastructure.

Vertiv implemented the integrated cooling, power and switching systems to meet stringent energy-efficiency and reliability standards, enabling Hibernia Express to deliver 10.16 Tbits/s capacity with under 60 ms latency. Vertiv completed concurrent deployments in seven months — more than 40% faster than typical brick-and-mortar builds — while achieving high power-use efficiency and robust operation in challenging coastal environments.
