A Vertiv Case Study
Henry County School District, which serves more than 43,000 students across 50 buildings in a 327‑square‑mile area south of Atlanta, faced growing digital demands (including districtwide Chromebooks and tablets) while managing frequent power sags, spikes and labor‑intensive in‑rack UPS battery maintenance. The district engaged Vertiv (working with local partner Joe Powell and Associates) to modernize its power infrastructure, specifying centralized and remotely managed solutions such as Vertiv Liebert UPS systems and Vertiv Environet monitoring software.
Vertiv deployed a 40 kW N+1 redundant Liebert EXM with external bypass for the main data center, more than 100 Liebert GXT5 units for distributed sites, and Environet remote monitoring, consolidating UPS management and enabling proactive alerts. As a result—per Vertiv and the district—the IT team reduced onsite troubleshooting, can cover 50 remote sites with just four to five technicians, experienced fewer power glitches, and recorded zero system downtime when a storm caused a full outage because the Liebert UPS bridged power until the generator engaged.
