A Vertiv Case Study
Green Mountain AS, one of the largest data centre operators in the Nordics with its DC1‑Stavanger facility built inside a Norwegian mountain and powered by hydropower and fjord cooling, needed an industry‑leading thermal management solution for a data centre extension. After evaluating options and visiting two Vertiv Customer Experience Centres in Italy, Green Mountain selected Vertiv products — notably the Liebert® PCW chilled water units and a Liebert® EXL S1 UPS — while facing the added challenges of remote‑site logistics and COVID‑19 disruptions.
Vertiv installed Liebert PCW perimeter units to add 5 MW of cooling capacity at DC1 and supplied a 1,200 kVA Liebert EXL S1 UPS for DC3‑Oslo (offering up to a 60% smaller footprint at that rating). The Vertiv solution delivered certified, high‑efficiency thermal and power infrastructure, accelerated project completion to nine months despite the pandemic (with Vertiv assisting deliveries), and is expected to improve the colocation’s PUE and overall energy performance.
