GameStop - Customer Case Study

GameStop, the world’s largest video-game retailer with more than 6,100 stores across 18 countries, needed a centralized, globally accessible monitoring system to manage diverse regional IT facilities and to prevent after-hours incidents like power failures, floods and security breaches without overburdening lean regional staffs. To meet this challenge, GameStop partnered with Vertiv and selected the Environet monitoring solution from Geist DCIM.

Vertiv implemented Environet at GameStop’s corporate data center and integrated regional systems to create a single-pane-of-glass view across locations in Australia, Mexico, Germany, Canada, Sweden, the United States and Italy, monitoring over 12,500 managed points and 75+ devices. Environet delivers granular alarms for temperature, humidity, security and battery backup, supports DCIE and PUE measurements down to cabinet level, and has improved operational insight, faster incident response, cost visibility and scalability—enabling GameStop to expand monitoring to additional regional offices.
