Copeland Corporation, a leading manufacturer of compressors in the HVACR industry, faced growing demands from increased manufacturing automation that made network downtime unacceptable. To protect distributed network closets and remote sites, Copeland worked with Vertiv, deploying Liebert solutions including the Liebert GXT UPS, Liebert Npower UPS and the Liebert Intellislot OpenComms Web Card to bring enterprise-class power protection and management to shop-floor network devices.
Vertiv replaced aging UPS units with rack‑mountable Liebert GXT systems and added Intellislot cards for SNMP/Web monitoring, giving Copeland proactive visibility and control over remote UPS health. The Vertiv solution enabled Copeland to meet its 100 percent uptime goal — sustaining operations through power outages (including an ice storm) — and delivered measurable benefits: full availability of remote network systems, earlier fault detection for preventive maintenance, and successful implementation of the company’s manufacturing automation program.
