Consumer Electronics Leader Ensures Reliability of HighCriticality Data Center Using No Backup Generators

E+I Engineering was engaged by a leading consumer electronics company to ensure continuous operation of a high‑criticality European data center that intentionally operates without diesel or gas backup generators. To meet strict sustainability and uptime targets, E+I Engineering worked with Vertiv and implemented high-precision power automation and monitoring tools, notably E+I Engineering’s power distribution and control system (PDCS) and electrical power management system (EPMS).

Vertiv-supported automation used PLCs for automatic network reconfiguration and an EPMS interface with custom dashboards to provide granular, real‑time visibility (including per‑hall energy tracking and PUE). The Vertiv-enabled deployment produced measurable results: zero unplanned downtime since installation, a self‑healing power distribution network, reduced energy consumption and carbon emissions, and 24x7 remote monitoring and alerting for predictable, reliable operations.
