A Customer Success From The Experts In Business-Critical Continuity™

CDW Berbee, a national IT managed‑services provider with enterprise data centers in Madison and Minneapolis, faced rising heat and hotspot issues as server densities grew—temperature swings ranged as much as 15°–18°F (some racks between 63°F and 78–80°F). To address cooling limits in its live, high‑density environment, CDW Berbee engaged Vertiv and evaluated Vertiv’s Liebert cooling solutions, including the Liebert XD line.

Vertiv installed Liebert XDH horizontal row coolers (eight 20 kW units) and a Liebert XDC coolant chiller to bring cooling closer to the load, supplementing existing Liebert systems. The Vertiv solution eliminated the 15°–18°F temperature variation, stabilized data‑center temps at about 72°F, increased cooling scalability without downtime, cut power draw by roughly 11 kW, and helped secure a $1,725 utility rebate for energy savings.
