hMetrix is a 70-person healthcare business intelligence and data science firm that helps payers, providers, employers, and agencies manage risk, claims, and outcomes as care shifts to value-based models. The company needed to rapidly staff projects and deploy infrastructure that could support products like self-service care-manager analytics and Episode Analytics for bundled payments while handling massive, real-time datasets.

hMetrix moved from MySQL to the Vertica analytics platform (deployed in the cloud on AWS), gaining a high-performance big-data foundation for Medicare/Medicaid claims and clinical records.
