How Redbox implemented a cloud-based tax automation system to streamline indirect tax across its business

Redbox Automated Retail, LLC (Redbox) needed to streamline indirect tax across a sprawling footprint of roughly 35,000 locations spanning about 41,000 tax jurisdictions. To address this challenge, Redbox worked with Vertex, transitioning from Vertex Indirect Tax O Series to Vertex Cloud Indirect Tax to automate and centralize tax calculation and compliance.

Vertex implemented the cloud-based Vertex Cloud Indirect Tax solution with Vertex Consulting services, completing the migration in 6–8 weeks. The result: automated tax across Redbox’s entire estate, faster issue resolution through highly responsive Vertex support, and the ability for Redbox’s tax team to focus on strategic work rather than day-to-day tax maintenance.
