Mystery Ranch, a 20+ year maker of hand-built, high-performance backpacks for military, firefighters, hunters and alpinists, needed a better way to show fit, scale and fine details (thread, stitching) online because static images led shoppers to order multiple sizes and increase return volume. To address this, Mystery Ranch partnered with Vertebrae to add web-based 3D and AR product experiences to their eCommerce site.

Vertebrae delivered immersive 3D & AR product views (launched March 2020, starting with 10 packs) that let customers zoom in on materials and virtually compare size and fit, reducing the need to buy multiple items. The Vertebrae solution drove measurable impact: users who engaged generated about $100K more from Feb–Sep 2020, conversion lifts of 115% on desktop and 70% on mobile, an 18% increase in average order value, fewer returns, and over 33,000 unique users engaging with the experiences.
