UK Central Government modernizes 80+ services with Version 1

The UK Central Government department faced the challenge of migrating critical national services from costly, at-risk legacy data centres and poor-value third-party contracts. They partnered with Version 1 to build a secure, multi-tenant IaaS and PaaS platform in the cloud to host their next generation of applications.

Version 1 delivered a multi-account AWS platform built with Infrastructure as Code, incorporating security controls and automation to enable a clear route to live for application teams. The solution facilitated the onboarding of tenant applications, promoted cost-saving through shared services and right-sizing, and provided new visibility into usage and costs. This enabled the department to save taxpayer money by exiting expensive contracts and provided a secure foundation for future applications.
