NIE Networks assesses 200+ data sources with Version 1

NIE Networks, an energy company operating the electricity transmission and distribution network for over 860,000 customers, had a regulatory obligation to ensure the quality of its business-critical data. To address this challenge and better control and gain insights from its data, NIE Networks engaged Version 1 as its trusted IT data partner.

Version 1 carried out a company-wide assessment of over 200 data sources and worked with the client to rank data by importance. Leveraging a custom-built data quality solution on Microsoft Azure, Version 1 implemented bespoke data quality rules. This provided NIE Networks with a single, integrated view of its data estate, leading to better quality data, the avoidance of duplication, and the ability to use data to guide decision-making and customer engagement.
