HolidayTaxis.com cuts page load times and deploys in weeks with Version 1

HolidayTaxis.com, a worldwide airport transport e-commerce service, faced a critical challenge when new contracts in Asia threatened to cause long page load times for customers due to latency and the Great Firewall of China. With an extremely tight deadline, they needed a highly available and scalable solution to deploy new data centers in the region. They engaged vendor Version 1 to implement a solution using Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Version 1 built new environments in AWS China and Singapore using Infrastructure as Code based on their reference architecture. The solution included load-balanced web servers, database servers, and a VPN connection to their London data center. This resulted in an extremely fast deployment that met the deadline, provided high availability, and delivered much-improved page load times for Southeast Asian customers. Following this success, Version 1 also migrated and upgraded HolidayTaxis.com's core production databases to a Microsoft SQL Server 2016 AlwaysOn cluster in AWS, eliminating issues with traffic spikes and providing a flexible, resilient platform for future growth.
