A Version 1 Case Study

Harrow Council migrates 300 systems to Azure with Version 1

Harrow Council, a local government authority serving over 250,000 residents, faced the challenge of modernizing its outdated, on-premise IT infrastructure. This system struggled to support remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic and was housed in a building slated for demolition. Partnering with vendor Version 1, the council embarked on an ambitious digital transformation program with a primary goal of migrating its core systems and 300 line-of-business applications to the cloud to improve agility and service delivery.

Version 1 worked alongside Harrow Council's IT team to develop and execute a plan to migrate the council's entire estate to Microsoft Azure. This solution established a new hybrid service delivery model, bringing control back in-house while leveraging third-party expertise. The results included a modernized, agile IT foundation that enabled remote collaboration and ensured continuous service for residents. As a critical partner, Version 1 provided essential support and expertise throughout the migration and continues to help drive the council's ongoing digitalization journey.
