They engaged Version 1, an AWS Premier Consulting Partner, to overcome the complexities of moving 270 databases and converting legacy functionality into a modern, fully platform-managed solution while adhering to strict security requirements.

Version 1 implemented a solution using Amazon RDS, migrating the data layer and rebuilding the integration layer using a DevOps approach with tools like Terraform and HashiCorp Vault. This resulted in a successful migration completed within five months, delivering improved deployment velocity, enhanced security compliant with government standards, and a highly available system. The project prepared for the production migration of 180 databases following the rationalization of 90 obsolete ones.
