Die Mobiliar, Switzerland’s oldest private insurance company, needed a new way to support two-factor authentication after rolling out Lenovo X1 Yoga laptops without integrated smart card readers. To maintain secure access for employees while keeping the flexibility of mobile work, the company turned to Versasec and its vSEC:CMS S-Series virtual smart card solution.
Versasec, working with Reist-Telecom, implemented virtual smart cards across Mobiliar’s sites and agencies, using the laptops’ TPM chips instead of physical cards and readers. The deployment improved mobility while meeting security goals, and the custom Remote Service Device Manager enabled remote administration of devices anywhere, supporting secure access for more than 4,900 staff across 200+ office sites.
