Cantref - Customer Case Study

Cantref, a housing association in West Wales with 70 employees and over 1,400 properties to manage, needed a better way to protect sensitive client information while giving staff more flexible access. The organization wanted to replace a limited authentication solution with one that could support Citrix XenApp, work with remote and office-based staff, and keep activity history off connecting computers. Versasec’s vSEC:CMS, together with CPS and Gemalto smart card and token products, was chosen to meet these requirements.

Versasec implemented vSEC:CMS to manage Cantref’s smart cards, encrypted tokens, and vSEC:USB access to the Citrix environment. The result was stronger security with smart card authentication, broader application access, and data kept within the organization. Cantref also reduced travel for staff, lowered its carbon footprint, and expected to nearly eliminate PCs and laptops in favor of thin clients, cutting equipment, support, and power costs.
