Haas Door Company, a family-owned manufacturer of residential and commercial garage doors in Northwest Ohio, was slowed by a fully manual accounts receivable process: most customers paid by check, ACH payments required paper authorizations, and applying and reconciling payments often consumed the credit manager’s day and complicated discount deadlines. Leadership wanted to automate matching and reduce the administrative burden so accounting could focus on higher-value customer work.
In 2017 Haas Door implemented Versapay’s Advanced Cash Application and Customer Portal, which uses AI to automatically match remittance data from checks, emails, PDFs or ACH files. The change pushed ACH to about 70% of payments, cut cash-application time from days to minutes, doubled payment volume without adding AR headcount, and freed finance staff to pursue customer growth while improving the payment experience.
